I'll keep playing with the other values in different areas to make sure it works. I'll leave that untouched since it doesn't seem to affect performance. Tested the scalability values, and find out that r.EyeAdaptationQuality is connected to auto exposure. I'll try to remake the file step by step and optimize it for potato PCs. The other 2 images is the same area without changing the scalability file. XDĪttached images show the tweaked result. Anyway, some players will probably have the same issues I have, so I'll leave here some tweaks I used to make the game fluid for me:Īdd to the Scalability.ini file at C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\ES2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor (path may be different for extreme cases, you can add to the Engine.ini file The problem here seems the light intensity. Could disable fog on the Egine.ini file, but that kills the whole area mood.Įverspace 1 nebula areas weren't this heavy, unless those very dark ones that I loved. Forced some shadow values on the scalability file, and it's fine regarding FPS, but the fog is extremely thick and light is so bright that I cannot see anything until it pops right on my face. The fog there is very thick, and performance drops to unplayable levels. Just trying the area Carrier Holdup in Union System. Mass Effect is an FPS (to a point) which isn't even a fair comparison at all (except for the almighty rail gun - see rail gun Sir Isaac Newton video for a good laugh)Įverspace has a wide variety of strats to consider in approaching your problems.īut if its just not that kind of game for you - well - safe to say this game is pretty much locked in on its overall model.RFG_Ingmar: Never noticed map and nebulas affecting each other. Pretty sure a Sentinel could take on a Herc MKII without batting an eyelash. This game is much easier than those titles (funny/ironic) - granted they don't even sit in the same zip code in terms of style but still - this game isn't that hard.įreespace controls are only slightly simpler - but its a dogfight/capitalship fight game that is rather demanding on reflexes when it comes to evasion/survival. I have the Freespace collection here - and Mass Effect (all of them) Just to poke fun at other games mentioned. Now if your suffering due to controls - or lack of understanding - speak up - plenty of knowledge to go around here. If you don't take the time to plan it out to some degree (very little in fact) and explore - you won't like it very much - even then - its still forgiving. In truth this games difficulty curve is very forgiving - its all how you approach the game. Seeing complaints about puzzles alone make me scream. Games these days are too damn easy and literally serve these kids up with everything on a damn platter. I grew up on the Atari/NES here - trust me - I know. I could list off even more games - in truth the classics are generally considered brutal beyond imagination and horrifyingly hard in many cases. You won't find that in the majority of games here today.įunny enough "Pacman" is more challenging than Everspace 2 (laughs) Hate to break it to you - but using 8bit / 16 bit games (if that) as a comparison is a little ridiculous. I love to play roguelikes on hardcore, but i also love to play 30 minutes to "Feel the space" without Pressure. It would keep up the FUN for this group, and for sure will keep your sales high. The point is, please think about the generation which played Asteroids and Defender back in the days and which are now NOT SO FAST anymore. I am 59 years old, German and loved to buy your game, even iin early access. Originally posted by SALZHERZ:Dear Developers.
